LHS & LCHS Virtual Enterprise Students Excel In Pigeon Forge
Lawrence County Schools were again well represented at the 2013 Tennessee Virtual Enterprise Trade Fair in Pigeon Forge.
Animal Kingdom of Loretto High School as well as Alpha & Omega of Lawrence County High School walked away with great success and thousands of dollars in virtual sales.
The Loretto High School Virtual Enterprises, International™ firm, The Animal Kingdom, Inc., attended the Mid-Western Region Virtual Enterprise Trade Fair in Pigeon Forge, TN on November 25th.
This year’s event was larger than ever with over 90 virtual firms representing schools from Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, and Michigan.
The Music Road Convention Center was filled with excitement as hundreds of VE students networked with one another while buying and selling their products.
This year, The Animal Kingdom, Inc. processed over $187,000 in virtual sales of pets and pet-related products.
The Animal Kingdom, Inc. was rewarded for all of their hard work and preparation by receiving the following awards: 1st Place – Website Template Design, 2nd Place – Flyer Design, 2nd Place – Business Card Design, 3rd Place – Brochure Design, and Top Ten in Newsletter Design.
The Business Plan Team, consisting of Rhett Kennedy, Maria Brink, Ana Rico, Alex Beckman, Kayley Allen, and Courtney King also received 1st Place in the Western Region Business Plan Competition, and 3rd Place in the Tennessee State Business Plan Competition.
These six students presented an oral PowerPoint presentation of the written business plan to a panel of judges while in Pigeon Forge, and received these honors for their hard work.
Attending this year’s trade fair and enjoying the beautiful sites of Christmas in the mountains were LHS students Rhett Kennedy, Maria Brink, Samantha Beckman, Ana Rico, Sarah Methvin, Kelsie White, Cara Andrews, Alex Beckman, Sydney Strickland, Jake Brewer, Ellie Davis, Courtney King, Kayley Allen, Anna Brewer, Mariah Borne, Faith Smith, and their VE Instructor, Ms. Mary Pack.
Also attending were LHS Business Technology Teacher, Mrs. Roberta Niedergeses, and parents, Carroll and Sheila Methvin.
Lawrence County High School Virtual Enterprises International firm, Alpha & Omega attended the Tennessee Trade Show in Pigeon Forge, TN on November 25th. The students were excited to be one of over 90 virtual firms being represented this year. Firms from Tennessee, Illinois, North Carolina, and South Carolina were in attendance.
The energy levels were high as hundreds of students filled the Music Road Convention Center to buy and sell their products. Alpha & Omega did not disappoint with over $83,000 in virtual sales of Christian apparel and merchandise.
This year the students added a new “Camp Alpha & Omega” line which included camping gear and equipment that deemed to be popular. The students did an excellent job of implementing their networking and sales skills in order to make this year’s trade fair a success.
Alpha & Omega worked tirelessly on competition materials and preparing their booth for the trade fair. Their hard work and preparation were rewarded by receiving Top Ten in Flyer, Newsletter, Brochure, and Commercial competitions.
Attending this year’s trade fair were LCHS students Carson Black, Harley Buie, Trenton Delane, Lance Egly, Charity Foster, Dylan Guthrie, Kaitlyn Harvey, Daniel Hathaway, Taylor Hill, Jason Howell, Madison Johns, Hannah Melton, Hunter Mitchell, Lauren Old, Cacey Shelton, Bailey Sisk, Elijah White, and their VE Instructor Hope McDow. Also attending were parents Lori Egly, Tammy Foster, Cissy Holt, Cathy Mitchell, and chaperone Kyle McDow.
The LCHS Virtual Enterprise students are now utilizing class time to operate their virtual firm and to prepare for the International Trade Fair in New York City on April 1-5, 2014.
